The Rite of Surrender: A journey into Conscious Kink, Power and Ritual

What happens when you stop performing desire and start listening to it?

For seven days we gather at Terra Rosa, the queer-run community set in the green hills of the Costa Brava, an hour from Barcelona. Beautiful rooms, wild gardens, long views over the mountains, and a circle of men+ ready to explore what lives beneath the surface.

The Rite of Surrender is a deep dive into conscious kink and transformational BDSM. Through roleplay, sensation, archetypes and rituals of power and surrender, we use the tools, toys and language of kink to meet ourselves and each other in tender, vulnerable and deeply alive places. The space is held and trauma-informed, with consent and attunement as the ground everything else grows from.

No experience needed. You might be new and curious, already playing and wanting more presence in it, or coming from tantra or healing work and ready to bring power and eros into the picture.

What matters is a willingness to meet yourself truthfully and to hold others with the same respect.

We start slowly, building trust, communication and a real feel for the body’s yes, no and maybe. As the group deepens, so does the play: dominance and submission as devotion, archetypes as allies, intensity as a doorway rather than something to brace against. Every edge becomes a chance to remember your aliveness.

Between the sessions there’s time for rest, silence, nature and the kind of connection that turns a group of strangers into something closer to tribe.

This isn’t a space for conquest or performance. It’s a field of mutual discovery, where power becomes a form of love and surrender reveals itself as trust.

Now in its third edition, the retreat is led by Simon Magnus, a facilitator, intimacy educator and DJ with two decades of somatic and creative work behind him, and Shadi Terra, a queer sex educator and Shamanic Kink teacher who leads conscious kink intensives worldwide. Together they bring years of experience holding groups through deep, transformational work.
